MY JOURNEY

It felt like my life was falling apart, and somewhere in the hurt, I turned my heart away from Jesus. I wanted to do things my way, and for a while, I convinced myself I could. But I reached a point where I couldn't keep telling myself I was okay. I was hurting, I felt lost, and I didn't know how to find my way back.
My surrender wasn't some big, beautiful moment. It was me coming to God with nothing left to say except, "I need You. I can't keep doing this on my own." That's where He began to reveal Himself to me. I was still broken. I still had questions. But I began to understand that I didn't have to get myself together before coming back to Him. I could come exactly as I was-even when all I had were tears and a prayer I could barely get out.
Around that time, I heard Jamie Macdonald's "Desperate." For the first time, I heard a song that connected so deeply with what I was going through.
It gave words to feelings I hadn't known how to explain and helped me be honest with God about how much I needed Him.
Verse By Verse grew out of those conversations. I began taking Scripture and pieces of my testimony and putting them into songs-sometimes while I was still crying, still praying, still learning to trust the words I was singing.
I felt God calling me to finish this project while I was still working through my own story. So I kept writing, trusting Him with what I couldn't see yet.
I'm thankful for the chance to pour into all 17 songs, keep them my own, and share the journey with the people who helped bring them to life.
My prayer is that somewhere in these songs, you feel understood-the way I did when I needed it most. If you're hurting, if you've pulled away, or if you don't know what to say to God anymore, I hope my story helps you take that first step toward Him. You don't need the right words. Mine were simply, "I need You." And that was enough to begin again.
